Momodou Siray Jallow aka Dj Mo born in Banjul in the 60’s started as a Disc Jockey in 1983 at Safari Night Club in Brikama.  During my time in Brikama, I was able to wow in the trade I like and adored since my early years. With the achievements I got in Brikama, I was able to excel in the music and clubbing profession; and then back in 1992, I started working at the famous Tam Tam Night Club in Kotu.  In 1993, I joined the then Radio 1 FM along Kairaba Avenue as a radio DJ until 1997. During my short stint at the station, I was involved in the promotion of Gambian music although there were just a few of them around in town. My work at the radio station was going in conjunction with the work I was doing at the night club too.

Furthermore, with the inception of West Coast Radio (WCR) in 1997, I left my previous job to join WCR for a new challenge. I have being working at WCR ever since and I am currently the head of Music and the Technical Dept. I still play as a DJ too at the radio station and since joining WCR, I had been heavily involved in the promotion of Gambian music especially the young and talented rappers. I had worked with many musicians both local and international artist in the promotion of their music. This is well documented and I am well renowned both in the Gambia and other parts of the world.

Finally, I had produced a tape compilation of Gambian music with my own money which proves that I want the music in this country to grow into higher heights.  The project I undertook with regards to the music compilation in 2001 was called One Gambia. All my effort didn’t go unnoticed because I had been awarded with lots of awards in recognition of my work and desire in promoting Gambian music.
